update: finally got my backup done, burned my 1st 2 cds! *achievement* *smug smile*

dammit im becoming incredibly un-techified ever since i school ended (for 2.5 yrs anyhow). i remember when i used to be reading byte (whatever happened to byte now? i cant tell the diff between all the latest processors or tell u which one's more suited for what task anymore...) and pc gamer and pc computing (too MOR - middle-of-road - for my liking anyhow) but now im tenuously getting by via zdnet's AnchorDesk email digests... can you even believe i burned my 1st (& 2nd) cdrs today?? maybe it means im getting more of a life. maybe it means im changing - yet again.. hooray, another image overhaul... =)

anyhow the 1st backup cd din work properly cos i crashed the com a coupla times trying to write the cd n watch vcds at the same time - there wasnt anything remotely worth watching on cable at 0400 anyway and mtv alternative nation can get pretty staid after a while...aside hasnt the commercialisation of alternative *always* been a problem..? only programme where real alternative stuff is on currently seems to be Glenn Ong's A-TRAX but its difficult to tune in nowofdays cos of the unearthly hours i gotta work. man.. hands up if anybody remembers paul "i-hate-a1-n-boybands" zach & zach's trax that used to be on the old heart913? okay /aside so after a while my personal folder (which was the most impt thing i had to backup.. no i wasnt backing up my drivers or anything like that! haha) on the cdr got corrupted n e com crashed every time i accessed the folder. coaster time! =| and that's how i literally burned my 1st cdr n wound up making a 2nd.

speaking of cds, pretty inspired by cd art - not just the stuff that goes on the box, usually the nicest ones appear on music cds (gee i wonder why!) - esp after muzik mag's aug electroclash cover cd mixed by miss kittin... maybe ill scan in the cd art sometime [does it break any copyright laws?] its apparently drawn by the kittin herself using a marker (i mean they duplicated her original design) and its very, well, *original*. what can i say, im inspired!!

speaking of electroclash im still quite impressed how chris ho (@ x'ho) spotted electroclash rising on the horizon over a year ago. if i remember correctly he was playing chicks on speed *all* of last year on hip parade and at that time they werent even classified as electroclash - imho the term is a very mid-2002 thing. time for reminiscing: i was pretty freaked out the first time i listened to the lyrics for "warm leatherette" but it does seem like electroclash's all about that... grown to like or at least accept it now. dont tell me im turning goth... no no i dont listen to goth!
