felt particularly antisocial yest - partly e people, partly e sianness of going at 0900 to do absolutely, spectacularly *nothing* til e actual ceremony @ 1600ish - so din make much new frens.. on hindsight maybe i shouldve, as zuan likes to point out "these'll b e people wholl b your colleagues for e next 6-10 yrs of ur life" - of course im quoting out of context: actual context was why any hanky-panky shouldnt be on the cards {insert above quote here}. then again it's also a tremendously small world cos over 70% of the faces there are familiar - can-recognise-the-face-as-having-been-seen-somewhere-before - and about 30% (conservative estimate) are acquaintances. met a lot of people who know about my colourful past (read: all e big mistakes ive made over e past 2 years) and dont quite tire of reminding... wont *anyone* give me a break??
dinah washington "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby" (Rae & Christian remix) - how apt.
anyhoo you wouldnt believe how many artistes have covered this song, but rae & christian really manage to invigorate this track just enuf to make it sound soulful without being dated, in the sense that classic soul-jazz usually sounds old...
particularly glad that i wasnt involved in any of the items cos they turned out to be a little lacklustre... to give credit where credit is due i think there wasnt enuf time for preparation, given the abruptness of the notification (yours truly found out about one rehearsal - e last one before e real thing - e same day it was to be held. that was about 2 wks ago...) but in any event since only parents n VIPs were in the room watching e performance i dont think anyone suitably 'qualified' was around to judge. =|
e food was good, tho: oodles n oodles of food that just kept coming. and they had tortilla chips (purple too!) wif salsa. tangy... and the dessert spread was lovely. did i mention the way they served the coffee n tea? that was perhaps the best part of the entire thing... well okay maybe i was hungry thats why... heh
